Collin and his Papa will be traveling on an Amtrak train adventure to experience historic Philadelphia for 3 summer days, July 23-25.  We're calling this our Mountaineers Do Philly tour.

Through this blog we will take you with us on that adventure and learn about Philly with us.

In addition to this pre-trip posting about our plans and itinerary, we will put up daily posts and pix and other stuff we think might interest you about what we are doing and learning.

It's a joint project so look forward to hearing from both both of us.

Join us for the trip by train on the Amtrak "Pennsylvanian" across Pennsylvania, riding the Philly subway, visits to Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, US Mint, historic ships, Pat's King of Steaks (for tasty Philly cheesesteaks),  Phillies vs Brewers at Citizens Bank Park and more.

And hopefully some visits with cousins in Philly and Collingswood, NJ.

      we had a FANTASTIC time in philly . . . and we hope to get back again . . . so much to see and do and learn . . . we barely got started as you know.

      thanks again so much for your advice and encouragement that helped to make this a big success and memorable time for this grandpa and grandson (the "dynamic duo").
